UPCOMING PACK EVENTS:
(for a complete list of Pack and Scouting events, check the calendar)

  • Saturday, May 9th (9am-4pm) - Gopher Day at Camp Boyhaven. Annual Council event where Scouts and their families volunteer to help work at the camp for a day.

  • Saturday, May 30th - Pack Nature Hike. More information will be delivered to each den shortly. (Rain date is Sunday, May 31).

  • Summer Day and Resident Camps at Boyhaven - Don't forget -- summer camp is almost upon us. Boyhaven is a really great experience and has programs for all Cub Scouts from Tigers to Webelos. If you haven't signed up yet, talk to Patrick Ryan or your den leader.

  • Other upcoming events - June's pack meeting (tentatively scheduled for Friday, June 12 at 6pm) will be a cookout at Kinns Road park complete with a Raingutter Regatta and crossover ceremony for the Scouts. And don't to plan for the July 4th parade -- Pack 42 will again march in the Clifton Park parade and have a picnic lunch at Clifton Commons after the parade.

Pack Committee Meeting - - The next monthly committee meeting is Monday, May 4th, 7:00 pm at the Jonesville United Methodist hall. All parents welcome to attend. Parents -- Make a Difference, Volunteer a Little of Your Time to Pack 42

Like every Cub Scout group, Pack 42 depends on its parents to help deliver the great learning experiences and fun activities we do each year.

Now that some of the Webelos families have "graduated" to Boy Scouts, there are a few positions open.

Please contact John Moore or Patrick Ryan if you're interested in helping out.

A little of your time can really make a huge difference.

RECENT PACK EVENTS:

Easter Egg Hunt - (April 4, 2009) More than forty Scouts and siblings participated in the fun of the Pack Easter Egg Hunt. There were indoor games -- including egg tosses and egg races, and outdoor egg hunt, and lots of good food and fun kid prizes. The weather was perfect and everyone had a blast!

Blue & Gold - (March 15, 2009) We had one of the largest turnouts ever for this year Blue & Gold celebration brunch. Families and friends came to cheer for another year of Scouts' accomplishments. We thanked all the adult volunteers that helped provide this year's great program. And we all enjoyed the spectacle of Venture Troop Eagle Dancers, who entertained everyone and then led Webelos II Cub Scouts cross over to their Boy Scout Troops.

 

 

Oct 4, 2008 - Pack 42 Cub Scouts travelled to Ft. Ticonderoga for the annual Scout Camporee.

Sept 27, 2008 - Pack 42 Cub Scouts ran a sell-out popcorn fundraiser at the Latham Wal-Mart.

Sept 19, 2008 - Pack 42 held its 2008-09 fall kick-off program at the Jonesville Firehouse.

July 26, 2008 - Scouts and their families hike along Tenant Creek to the first of three beautiful waterfalls.

July 15-18, 2008 - Pack 42 Webelos attend Camp Boyhaven's four day resident camp. Lots of sun and fun was had by all!

July 4, 2008 - Pack 42 Cub Scouts rode in style on a classic military supply truck in the Clifton Park 4th of July Parade. Thanks to the Nigriny's for the vehicle loan (plus quite a few gallons of gas!). After the parade, scouts and their families enjoyed a picnic at Clifton Commons.
